What can really be said about tonight's game? The New York Jets traveled to New England and laid an egg. It seems that Rex Ryan let his man-crush on Bill Belichick and "The Golden Boy" Tom Brady get in the way of forming any resemblance of a game plan. Once again, coach Belichick looks like a genius. Deion Branch has, at least for one more season, resurrected his career. Danny Woodhead has found a home in Kevin Faulk's absence. Mike Tannenbaum and the rest of the New York Jets must be kicking themselves in the ass over letting him go, but keeping Joe Mcknight. Really?
The Patriots played like the best team in the NFL tonight. There is really nothing more to say about that guy, Tom Brady besides he is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play. Single handily exploiting the entire Jet's defense, Welkahhh was all over the field tonight converting important third downs while helping his quarterback out of some potential sacks. The thing that really impressed me was the young Patriots defense. Having an average age of just 26, they held a potent Jets team to just three points. They may give up a lot of points, but they are an extremely opportunistic defense that comes up with big plays when they need to. Mark Sanchez finally came back down to Earth this week throwing three interceptions, one being costly in the red-zone. The only true bright spot for the Jets tonight was Santonio Holmes. He continues to be one of the most physically talented wide receivers in the NFL.
Coming down to the final four weeks of the season, The Patriots have a nice, comfortable lead on the AFC East. In my opinion, the Patriots have a lighter schedule the last four weeks of the season. Both teams play the Bears, Dolphins, and Bills which are all winnable games. The Jets still have to travel to Pittsburgh while the Patriots get the Packers at home. Everything points to New England winning the division with the Jets taking a wild-card spot. Here's to hoping the Bears take a big shit in the Patriot's cheerios.
If you don't know, now ya know...
